About Conference

In the tradition of earlier biennial ICMAT conferences, the Materials Research Society of Singapore will host 3rd ICMAT from 3 to 8 July 2005. In conjunction with this conference, the International Union of Materials Research Societies’ 9th International Conference on Advanced Materials (IUMRS-ICAM) will also be held. The last three conferences in this long and popular series (IUMRS-ICMA) were held at Beijing, China (1999), Cancun, Mexico (2001) and Yokohama, Japan (2003). All 25 technical symposia, 9 plenary lectures and exhibition will be held at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (SICEC). A range of contemporary topics of importance for the science, engineering and technology of the materials will be discussed.

The event being a Centennial Conference of the National University of Singapore, some of the Nobel Laureates who will be giving plenary lectures at the conference will give public lectures at the University Cultural Centre. These lectures will be open to the conference participants and to general public including students of the Junior Colleges, Polytechnics and Universities.

More than 60 international exhibitors from all sectors of materials science and engineering communities will display equipment at Level 3 of the SICEC, a convenient location from all technical sessions.

More than 1800 delegates from worldwide presenting roughly 2500 abstracts are anticipated to attend the conference.

Registration Fees

All rates quoted are in Singapore Dollars. (US$1.00 is approximately S$1.70)

For MRS (S’pore) Members, you are required to enter your membership number during registration. If you have forgotten your membership number, you can check the membership directory at: www.mrs.org.sg.

For Student Registration, please fax a copy of your student pass or letter from your university certifying your student status to the conference secretariat at (65) 6777 2393.

For NUS Staff, please fax a copy of your staff pass or letter from your university certifying you are a staff member to the conference secretariat at (65) 6777 2393.

Special Note to Staff / Student Members of NTU / IMRE
Only nominated staff / student is entitled to enjoy the waiver of registration fees. Please contact your respective staff-in-charge of this conference to check if you are nominated. If you are not nominated, you can register under the delegate/student category.
