In order to support a Reregistration Eligibility Decision (RED) for the non-food use of chromium (VI) as contained in the wood preservative Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) , on August 28, 2001, the Health Effects Divisions Hazard Identification Assessment Review Committee (HIARC) evaluated the toxicology data base of hexavalent Inorganic Chromium [Cr(VI)], and established toxicology endpoints for assessment of incidental oral, dermal, and inhalation exposure in the occupational and residential settings.
