【简介】 LSU's Department of Chemistry was recently (Chemical & Engineering News, Oct 28, 2002) ranked 38th in the nation on expenditures for chemical research. "That is an indicator of our increasing research activities," said Luigi Marzilli, chairman of the chemistry department. "Our research activity has increased by over a factor of five during the period from 1979-2000, and for the last three years our outside funding is increasing at a rate of about $1million a year. We're recruiting good people, and we continue to nurture their career development. Now that nurturing is paying off," he said. LSU was also ranked #12 nationally in chemical research equipment expenditures.
