【简介】 The University of Georgia has recognized the importance of studying the roles of metals in biology by establishing the multidisciplinary Center for Metalloenzyme Studies in 1986. The CMS is an inter-departmental center of excellence that consists of numerous University of Georgia faculty (17 in 1996) from various disciplines and departments (Chemistry, Microbiology, and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology), all of whom have research interests in the study of metals in biology. The mission of the CMS is to conduct state-of-the-art research in the provision of interdisciplinary training for the next generation of biological scientists. We are joined in this mission by a number of adjunct CMS faculty from nearby institutions (e.g., Emory, Georgia State, Georgia Tech) and from abroad, together offering an unparalleled collection of expertise in metallobiochemistry. The CMS provides a stimulating multidisciplinary environment for graduate studies and we invi te you to take advantage of our training expertise to get your research career off to a flying start. If your interests lie in the bioinorganic/metallobiochemical arena, the CMS is uniquely suited for you.
