The School of Chemistry has many research strengths including biological and medicinal chemistry, target organic synthesis, combinatorial chemistry, homogeneous catalysis, coordination chemistry, materials, structural chemistry, surface chemistry, liquid crystals, spectroscopy, computational chemistry, sensors and electrochemistry. Programmes are funded from many sources including the Research Councils (EPSRC, BBSRC, NERC and MRC), Charities, the European Community, US Government sources and Industry in the UK, Europe and the USA. A common feature of all programmes are strong links to industry.
