The UMIST Chemistry Department is large and scientifically active, with 23 full-time members of academic staff, about 300 undergraduates and more than 90 postgraduate students. They have large undergraduate teaching laboratories, modern lecture rooms and a departmental reference library, together with extensive and well-equipped research facilities.
