【简介】 Research In the School of Chemistry is organised into four groupings:
1. Organic Synthesis And Biological Chemistry Natural products, drug design, anti-cancer drugs, clean synthesis, asymmetric synthesis of nitrogen heterocycles, catalytic nucleic acids.
2. Catalysis Heterogeneous, homogeneous and enzyme catalysis, theoretical chemistry, ab initio calculations, hydrogen for fuel cells, clean catalytic combustion, biogas and bioethanol conversion, emission control catalysis, in situ transient and spectroscopic methodologies, atom efficient organic synthesis.
3. Inorganic And Materials Chemistry Co-ordination chemistry, organometallic chemistry, phosphines, ionic liquids, metal-metal interactions, crystal engineering, crystallography, nanoporous structures, archaeological chemistry, green chemistry, hydrogen bonding.
4. Spectroscopy, Photochemistry And Analytical Science Light-driven processes, metal-centred excited states, photophysics, nanosecond and picosecond resonance Raman spectroscopy, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, spin-crossover, thermo-, photo- and piezo-chromism, DNA photocleavage and intercalation, excited state vibrational spectra, Raman imaging, biomedical applications, ultracold atoms and molecules, molecular devices, electroanalytical chemistry, thermodynamic and kinetic metal ion speciation in soils and natural waters.
