【组织简介】 IIED is an independent, non-profit organization promoting sustainable patterns of world development through collaborative research, policy studies, networking and knowledge dissemination. They work to address global issues such as mining, the paper industry and food systems.
Founded in 1971, as the International Institute for Environmental Affairs in the United States, today the institute comprises a multicultural, multilingual staff of over 70 people from 18 countries and is headquartered in London.
Their main office is in London, with other offices in Edinburgh, Scotland and Dakar, West Africa.They also have an affiliate organization, IIED-América Latina in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
IIED has a global mandate, working with international and Southern partners, primarily in Africa, Asia and Latin America, as well as with institutional partners in the North.
They have over 700 recent books and reports, a well developed Resource Centre for those wanting specific information on participatory methodologies, and links to many environment and development resources.
