【组织简介】 FENS is a Federation that represents all national European neurocience socities. It was founded in 1998 at the Forum of European Neuroscience in Berlin.
The FENS Council is formed by representatives of all 31 member societies. The Council convenes at least once a year and chooses committee members, officers, the venue of the next meeting etc. The daily FENS administration is delegated to the Executive Committee, elected by the Council. Members of the Executive Committee are elected for two years, and can be re-elected only once.
FENS organises a large European meeting, called the FENS Forum, every two years. The first FENS Forum was held in 1998 in Berlin and attracted a large number of delegates (4200). The second, in Brighton, June 2000, broke this European record number of neuroscientists and attracted 5500 delegates. Paris 2002 has attracted 5300 people.
