【组织简介】 The European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) was established by European scientists in 1978. The objective of EFB is to promote safe and ethically acceptable biotechnology for the better use of Nature's resources. EFB also wishes to expand collaborations between academic and industrial researchers throughout Europe to increase competencies, strengthen education, promote innovation and increase the benefits of biotechnological research to society at large. Every second year, EFB holds a European Congress on Biotechnology, which typically attracts more than a thousand people.
More than 3000 scientists and students throughout Europe currently participate in EFB's Sections according to their special topical interests. In addition, the EFB has set up a number of Task Groups which deal with, for example, Public Perception of Biotechnology and formulate high-quality information about the use and application of biotechnology as well as with related ethical and safety aspects.
