【组织简介】 As originally suggested by Prof. C.N. Yang, the Centre was established and registered in Hong Kong in March 1985.
The Centre is a non-profit making institution serving academic exchange. It aims to promote the initiation and development of activities involving academic, science and technology interflow, as well as cooperation between Hong Kong, Mainland, and foreign entities by providing enquiry services, liaison, and financial assistance, etc.
The Centre is commissioned by Mainland education, science, and technology units, and supported by the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. At present, participation in the Centre's Board of Directors includes such institutions as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the China Association for Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Major Items of Services: Enquiry and liaison services for academic exchange, research collaboration, scholarly visits and international symposia.
Promotes science and technology interflow and cooperation, and introduces Mainland research products to Hong Kong.
Accepts the Ministry of Education's assignment to process applications from Hong Kong and Taiwan for Mainland tertiary institution recruitment of postgraduate students.
Accepts assignment by The Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to receive applications and formal assessment for National Natural Science Award.
Accepts assignment to hold training classes, symposia, inspection tours, and exhibitions relevant to academic, science, and technology interflow.
Accepts assignment to provide secretariat and liaison service to HKSAR's science, technology, and academic associations.
Provides partial financial assistance in support of academic, science, and technology interflow activities.
Contents editing and updating of announcements and information for Centre’s web pages.
Edits, publishes, and distributes the “Mainland-Hong Kong Academic Exchange” quarterly and its “Centre's Annual Report”. Assists and cooperates in the publication of special topic editions and academic symposia proceedings.
