【组织简介】 The American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC) is a nationwide organization of poison centers and interested individuals.
Objectives
To provide a forum for poison centers and interested individuals to promote the reduction of morbidity and mortality from poisonings through public and professional education and scientific research. To set voluntary standards for poison center operations.
Activities
Certification of regional poison centers and poison center personnel. Interaction with private and government agencies whose activities influence poisoning and poison centers. Development of public and professional education programs and materials. Collection and analysis of national poisoning data.
Publications and Awards
Annual Report of the American Association of Poison Control Centers Toxic Exposure Surveillance System (TESS) published every September in The American Journal of Emergency Medicine. The Association's newsletter, The Poison Line, published six times a year. Recognition awards to individuals who have made significant contributions to poison control. Research fellowship and annual meeting awards.
Meetings Each year, the Association holds a meeting which includes scientific presentations, business meetings, and committee meetings.
