【组织简介】
BayBio is widely known as "information headquarters" for the bioscience community in Northern California. The media, elected officials, and the public rely on them to articulate accomplishments and needs of the local bioscience community.

Built by the founders of biotechnology in the Bay Area: Walter Anderson, G. Steven Burrill, Ron Cape, Brian Cunningham, Edward Penhoet, Sanford Robertson, Jane Shaw, Richard Spees, and William Young, BayBio was founded in 1990 by a consortium of universities, public officials, educators, and bioscience executives, to foster a regional climate in which bioscience can continue to flourish. Their primary task is that of education: sharing information about the "worlds largest bioscience cluster" and its distinct needs with external audiences, such as the press, regional leaders, and the public.

BayBio is an independent, nonprofit organization that is working to keep Northern California in the forefront of bioscience activity. BayBios staff and services are paid for primarily through memberships, sponsorships, and event registration fees. Thanks to the support from people in their industry, they have delivered benefits to the regional bioscience community for more than a decade.

In its first years, BayBio was a renowned location for the bioscience job seeking community. Now that many companies have moved their career listings online, BayBio acts as an Internet hub for job seekers. They post various job listings for their member companies and provide links to each companys website, where jobseekers can access complete job boards.

After nine years in Oakland, the Bay Area Bioscience Center moved to San Francisco in July 1999. They then relocated to South San Francisco in the summer of 2002, just off of Oyster Point Boulevard, East of Hwy 101.
