The Colorado Venture Centers, Inc. was born on January 1, 1997, representing the merger of two acknowledged business incubators. The Colorado Bio/Medical Venture Center (CBVC) was founded in 1989 and devoted to developing emerging businesses in Biotechnology (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, medical diagnostics and testing). The Colorado Innovation Foundation (CIF) was established in 1984 as a program responsible for nurturing new companies in the environmental, advanced materials, and renewable energy industries. The combined activities of these incubators are now carried out through the CVC.
