【组织简介】 The Associated Industries of Kentucky Chemical Industry Council (AIK/CIC) is an association of manufacturers, distributors, transporters and other professionals who work together for continuous improvement of the chemical industry through advocacy, communication and education.
Sponsored by the Associated Industries of Kentucky, AIK/CIC members and staff serve as the voice of the industry before the Kentucky General Assembly, regulators, media and the general public.
AIK/CIC is dedicated to building a greater spirit of cooperation and understanding between the chemical industry, government and the community. In short, the AIK Chemical Industry Council works to achieve a favorable climate for business and industry in the Commonwealth.
Kentucky's chemical industry employed over 17,000 people in 1996. Major manufacturing facilities in the state rely on its chemical industry for a significant portion of their inputs and employed over 360,000 workers. The chemical industry's total wage and salary payments accounted to $664 million in 1996.
The state's chemical workers earned average annual wages and salaries of $18.77 - - the highest hourly wage in Kentucky's manufacturing sector.
There were 246 chemical plants located in Kentucky in 1997, the latest year for which such statistics are available.
