【组织简介】 The National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC) was officially launched on 15th October 2002 by Alan Johnson, Minister of State for Employment Relations, Industry and the Regions.
Established in response to market surveys sponsored by the DTI, NAMTEC is a not for profit organisation funded by the DTI, Yorkshire Forward and Objective 1, which aims to increase the competitiveness of the UK metals industry. Encompassing every metal, every sector and application, NAMTEC is the only one stop advice and support service for the entire UK metals industry.
NAMTEC concentrates on signposting industrial companies, particularly Small and Medium sized Enterprises to the science base. In particular NAMTEC will provide information on all areas of metals technology and will be focussing on a number of activities which will bring substantial benefits to the metals industry, these will include:
Managing major projects A team of project management specialists identify funding opportunities and partners, co-ordinate proposal preparation and submission and manage secured projects.
Signposting
We work with metals companies to help solve their technical problems through: Diagnosis of problems, Development of solutions, Implementation of solution and on going review.
All of this is provided by our technical helpline which is staffed by experienced technologists who can answer enquires about all metals, processes and applications.
Information Services NAMTEC will provide a source of technical and timely metals industry & technology information. This will be made available through a number of channels. These will include: An interactive and tailored internet service, portals to standards, mechanical properties, supply chain directories, material selectors, plus paper based services such as newsletters and case studies and seminars and workshops.
