欧洲分子生物学会议 (EMBC)
【组织简介】
24 (soon to be 25) member states form the European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC), an inter-governmental organization. This organization funds most of EMBOs (European Molecular Biology Organisation) actions. As an inter-governmental organization, the EMBC promotes a strong transnational approach to molecular biology. The necessity for exchange of expertise between countries becomes more and more evident with the increasing importance and impact of life sciences on our daily life. The EMBC was established in 1970 to build on and consolidate the work that had been initiated by EMBO originally. It takes a pan-European (expanded to include some neighbouring countries) view of research and supports a very broad range of science through the programmes that bear the EMBO name. Of particular significance for science in Europe today is the fact that the EMBC includes not only the EU countries, but also many of the accession countries and those that have links with the EU to permit participation in the EU Framework Programmes. The relationship between EMBO and EMBC is very solid, and has worked effectively for more than 30 years. The EMBC monitors the actions that EMBO performs on its behalf, but does not interfere in the execution of the programmes. This arrangement works well based on the trust that has been well established between the scientific communities represented by EMBO and the member states acting through the EMBC.

欧洲催化学会联合会 (EFCATS)
【组织简介】
EFCATS is a federation of catalysis societies from 24 European countries.

The main effort of EFCATS is the organisation of EUROPACAT, a biennial European congress on catalysis.

Constitution of the European Federation of Catalysis Societies:

Whereas there have been formed within the countries of Europe a number of societies, and branches of national scientific societies, devoted to the study of catalysis and related subjects.
And whereas each has organised and continues to organise its own programme of conferences, supplemented by bilateral meetings sponsored by governments and national funding agencies.
Now thereof, bearing in mind the momentum towards European unity it is timely to provide a means whereby scientists and engineers throughout the continent of Europe may coordinate and rationalise their scientific activities in the field of catalysis, and may simplify the forums for communication of the results of their researches in this area. This Constitution hereby establishes a European Federation of Catalysis Societies, herein after referred to as EFCATS, as a non-profit-making organisation or charity and defines procedures whereby the affairs of the Federation may be properly and lawfully conducted.
While it is not intended that the Federation shall replace or usurp the functions of the existing national societies, which will be free to continue to organise their own activities at the national level, it is expected that it will initiate and coordinate activities, especially conferences, having a multinational charater, and will exercise an important role in enhancing the status of catalysis as a fit subject for research. The existing societies, in the capacity of local branches of EFCATS, will however play a vital part in releasing the new Federation′s aims.

欧盟食品安全局 (EFSA)
【组织简介】
The primary responsibility of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) will be to provide independent scientific advice on all matters with a direct or indirect impact on food safety.

The Authority has been given a wide brief, so that it can cover all stages of food production and supply, from primary production to the safety of animal feed, right through to the supply of food to consumers. It will gather information from all parts of the globe, keeping an eye on new developments in science.

It will share its findings and listen to the views of others through a vast network that will be developed over time, as well as interacting with experts and decision-makers on many levels. A key task of the Authority will be to communicate directly with the public on its areas of responsibility.

Although the Authoritys main "customer" will be the Commission, it will be open to respond to scientific questions from the European Parliament and the Member States and it can also initiate risk assessments on its own behalf.

The Authority will carry out assessments of risks to the food chain and indeed can carry out scientific assessment on any matter that may have a direct or indirect effect on the safety of the food supply, including matters relating to animal health, animal welfare and plant health.

The Authority will also give scientific advice on non-food and feed GMOs, and on nutrition in relation to Community legislation.

欧盟化学研究资助协调机构 (CERC3)
【组织简介】
CERC3 is the acronym for the Chairpersons and Directors of European Research Councils' Chemistry Committees (CERCCC or CERC3). CERC3 was established in 1990. It comprises representatives of national research councils in the EU member countries which have responsibility for funding research and related postgraduate training in basic chemistry.

CERC3 is composed of

eminent research chemists who have been nominated by the national research councils,

programme directors in charge of chemistry funding in the national research councils.

CERC3 meets annually. Observers from the European Science Foundation (ESF), the European Commission (EC), from other European bodies seeking to promote chemistry in Europe (AllChemE = Alliance for Chemistry and Chemical Technology in Europe) and from European countries not belonging to the EU are also invited.

This site provides you with information about the community and the activities they perform in order to promote scientific research in chemistry on a European level.
