【Ind Eng Chem Res】Effect of dual reactive compatibilizers on the formation of co-continuous morphology of low density polyethylene/polyamide 6 blends with low polyamide 6 content
The coexistence of two kinds of reactive compatibilizers at the interface in immiscible LDPE/PA6 blends, namely, polyethylene graft maleic anhydride (PE-g-MAH) with a long backbone length and polybutadiene graft maleic anhydride (PB-g-MAH) with a short backbone length, promoted the formation of a flat interface and induced a co- continuous morphology in blends containing 30 wt.% PA6. The relations...

[Chem.Eur.J.]Supramolecular Alternating Polymer from Crown Ether and Pillar[5]arene-Based Double Molecular Recognition for Preparation of Hierarchical Materials
A novel supramolecular alternating polymer is constructed based on double molecular recognition events of benzo-21-crown-7 with a secondary ammonium salt and of pillar[5]arene with a neutral guest. The resulting polymer is utilized to prepare hierarchical materials with different dimensionalities for the first time. These materials included zero-dimens...

[J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. Chem.] Phosphonated homopolymers and copolymers via ring opening metathesis polymerization: Tg tuning, flame resistance, and photolithography
Phosphonated and epoxy-containing norbornene based monomers were prepared by Diels–Alder reaction. They were then combined with three other commercial cyclic unsaturated monomers to synthesize phosphonated homopolymers and copolymers via ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) using second-generation Grubbs catalyst. Glass transitions of these polymers were tunable in a broad range from ?...

[J. Phys. Chem. B.] Probing into the Supramolecular Driving Force of an Amphiphilic β?Cyclodextrin Dimer in Various Solvents: Host?Guest Recognition or Hydrophilic?Hydrophobic Interaction?
Tuning of the morphology and size of supramolecular self-assemblies is of theoretical and practical significance. To date, supramolecular driving forces in different solvents remain unclear. In this study, we first synthesized an amphiphilic β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) dimer that consists of one hydrophobic ibuprofen (Ibu) and two hydrophilic β-CD moieties (i.e., Ibu-CD2...

[J. Mater. Chem. B] Photo-controlled host–guest interaction as a new strategy to improve the preparation of ‘‘breathing’’ hollow polymer nanospheres for controlled drug delivery
This paper presents the photo-controlled host–guest interaction between azobenzene and b-cyclodextrin as a new strategy to improve the method of core removal to prepare poly((itaconoyloxy)ethyl methacrylate)-block-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-based hollow nanospheres. This improved method for the preparation of hollow nanospheres is simple, environmentally friendly, and highly efficient....

Chem. Commun., 2008, 1199–1201, Wettability switching between high hydrophilicity at low pH and high hydrophobicity at high pH on surface based on pH-responsive polymer
Surfaces obtained by modifying poly(N,N′-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) on rough silicon substrates are highly hydrophilic at low pH and highly hydrophobic at high pH; such surfaces effectively supplement the research on the wettability of solid surfaces based on the pH-responsive polymers.

[J. Mater. Chem. B] Thermo and pH dual-controlled charge reversal amphiphilic graft copolymer micelles for overcoming drug resistance in cancer cells
Currently, multidrug resistance (MDR) is the major challenge of nanotechnology in cancer treatment. In this study, a series of amphiphilic poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride)-graft-poly(2-(N,N-dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) graft copolymer [PSMA89-g-P(DMA16-co-SD)] micelles were prepared. PSMA89-g-P(DMA16-co-SD) graft copolymers were first synthesized by grafting different amounts ...

[2011][Chem. Commun., 2011,47: 4276-4278]Donor–acceptor Type Silole Compounds with Aggregation–Induced Deep–red Emission Enhancement: Synthesis and Application for Significant Intensification of Near–infrared Photoluminescence
Through efficient F?rster resonance energy transfer, the near-infrared emission (850 nm) of a guest (weak near-infrared emitter)–host (strong deep-red emitter) system is greatly enhanced by excitation of the host molecule at 508 nm, in comparison with excitation of the guest molecule at 660 nm.
