Carboxymethyl cellulose/polyacrylamide composite hydrogel for cascaded treatment/reuse of heavy metal ions in wastewater
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0304389418308707
A new bio-based bilateral hydrogel containing carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and polyacrylamide (PAM) was prepared for the wastewater remediation. The obtained CMC/PAM composite hydrogel reveals a strong single-ion affinity for copper (CuII), lead (PbII) and cadmium (CdII) ions, as well as multi-ion absorbability with it...

Water-dispersible and magnetically recoverable Fe3O4/Pd@nitrogen-doped carbon composite catalysts for catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol
Water-dispersible and magnetically recoverable Fe3O4/Pd@nitrogen-doped carbon catalysts were prepared. The porous nitrogen-doped carbon shells facilitate to enhance the stability of Pd nanoparticles and the water-dispersibility. The catalysts have good catalytic activity for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol and its derivatives, and can be magnetically separated from the reaction solution.

[J. Mater. Chem. C.] Scalable Fabrication of Free-Standing, Stetchable CNTs/TPE Ultrathin Composite Film for Skin Adhesive Epidermal Electronics
Wearable electronics have drawn extensive interest on account of their potential applications in smart human–machine interfaces, wearable human-health monitors and mimicking biological organs. However, the scalable and cost-effective fabrication of self-adhesive and easily transferred flexible ultrathin films is still challenging. Herein, a simple and highly efficient strategy was proposed for an...

Fabrication of composite biofibres based on chitosan and fluorinated graphene for adsorption of heavy metal ions in water
Abstract: In the study, a fast, environment-friendly and facile method has been developed to prepare of composite fibres (UFG-CS) based on fluorinated graphene and chitosan (CS). The composition and morphology of these composite fibres are investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermo-gravimetric analysis(TGA). Meanwhil...

Fabrication of composite microneedles integrated with insulin-loaded CaCO3 microparticles and PVP for transdermal delivery in diabetic rats
Abstract: Dissolving microneedles (MNs) display high efficiency, safety and painless in transdermal delivery for poorly permeable drugs. Here, a dissolving composite MNs prepared from insulin-loaded CaCO3 microparticles (INS-CaCO3 MPs) and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) as matrix were fabricated with two-step centrifuging and molding process to immobilize insulin in the MNs. The as-prepared ...

Chemical cross-linked polyvinyl alcohol/cellulose nanocrystal composite films with high structural stability by spraying Fenton reagent as initiator
Cross-linked polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) composite films with high structural stability were prepared by free radical copolymerization between cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) and maleic anhydride (MAH) modified PVA through spraying Fenton free radical as initiator. The influence of chemical cross-linked and physical network structure on mechanical, thermal and water absorption properties of the composit...

Preparation of Composite Films with Controlled Dispersion State of SiO2 Nanoparticles by Using Polymer/SiO2 Nanocomposite Particles
Dispersion state of inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) in the composite films may significantly influence on the film properties. In the present study, polymer/SiO2 nanocomposite particles (NCPs) with various SiO2 grafting states (various grafting ratios, various linking patterns between SiO2 NPs, and various types of grafted chains), were prepared through in situ emulsion or in situ m...
