【Journal of Materials Science】Nitrogen-doped graphene-supported molybdenum dioxide electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction
A simple one-step pyrolysis strategy has been developed to prepare molybdenum dioxide supported on nitrogen-doped graphene (MoO2/NG) as electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reactions (ORR). Homogeneous anchoring of MoO2 nanoparticles on nitrogen-doped graphene was achieved for the composite synthesized at 500 °C (MoO2/NG-500). For the first time, the MoO2/NG composite manifests considerable ele...

【Electrochimica Acta】Influence Of Annealing Temperature On Oxygen Reduction Activity Of Sputtered Co Catalysts On Vertically-Aligned Carbon Nanotubes
Cobalt and nitrogen were incorporated onto vertically-aligned carbon nanotubes (VACNTs) by a two-step process involving reactive sputtering and heat treatment to fabricate Co/N/CNT catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Both cyclic voltammetry (CV) and rotating-disk electrode (RDE) results demonstrate that annealing temperature plays an important role on improving catalyst activity, and t...

Synergistic enhancement of oxygen reduction reaction with BC3 and graphitic-N in boron- and nitrogen-codoped porous graphene
Rational design and optimization of metal-free electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is crucial for fuel cells and metal-air batteries. However, identifying design principle that links the active sites and their synergistic effects is far from satisfactory, especially for B,N-codoped graphene. Herein, we provide four B,N-codoped porous graphenes with tunable contents of pyridi...

Water-dispersible and magnetically recoverable Fe3O4/Pd@nitrogen-doped carbon composite catalysts for catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol
Water-dispersible and magnetically recoverable Fe3O4/Pd@nitrogen-doped carbon catalysts were prepared. The porous nitrogen-doped carbon shells facilitate to enhance the stability of Pd nanoparticles and the water-dispersibility. The catalysts have good catalytic activity for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol and its derivatives, and can be magnetically separated from the reaction solution.

A novel chemical reduction method to fabricate tunable selenium nanosphere and nanobelt based on cellulose nanocrystals
A novel chemical reduction method was reported to prepare tunable spherical or belted morphologies of nano-selenium (Se) based on cellulose nanocrystal (CNC). The homogeneous Se nanospheres with size of about 36?nm can be found for Se-Sphere-12H by adding ascorbic acid (VC) as assisted reducing agent. The Se nanobelt with a length of about 800?nm can be observed for Se-Belt-12H through one-pot rea...

Pd nanoparticles partially embedded in the inner wall of nitrogen-doped carbon hollow spheres as nanoreactors for catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol
Pd@nitrogen-doped carbon nanoreactors (Pd@NC) were synthesized by partially embedding small Pd nanoparticles in the inner wall of the nitrogen-doped carbon shells. Such embedment is critical for improving catalytic activity and stability.

Au Nanoparticle Decorated N-containing Polymer Spheres: Additive-Free Synthesis and Remarkable Catalytic Behavior for Reduction of 4-Nitrophenol
We demonstrated a simple, one-step route for assembling Au nanoparticles (NPs) on N-containing polymer nanospheres through in situ reductive growth process.Using resorcinol-melamine-formaldehyde resin nanospheres (RMF NSs) as a functional platform, neither a surfactant/ligand nor pretreatment is needed in the synthetic process of Au@RMF NSs hybrid nanostructure. When used as a catalytic media fo...

Cobalt-carbon core–shell nanoparticles aligned on wrinkle of N-doped carbon nanosheets with Pt-like activity for oxygen Reduction
A one-step soft-template induced strategy is demonstrated for the controlled synthesis of nitrogen-enriched core-shell structured cobalt-carbonnanoparticles (NPs) sequentially aligned on wrinkles of N-doped carbon nanosheets (Co-C@NWCs). The key feature of Co-C@NWCs for ORR catalysis enhancement is that it combines high catalytic centers of Co-C core-shell NPs with the wrinkle of carbon nanoshee...

Gold Nanoparticles/Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes Hybrid as a Stable Catalyst for Oxygen Reduction Reaction
A gold nanoparticles/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Au/MWNTs) hybrid was prepared by
the scalable one-pot reduction of chloroauric acid with etrakis(hydroxymethyl)phosphonium
chloride in the presence of MWNTs. TEM, XRD, FT-IR, XPS and TG analyses indicate that gold nanoparticles (Au NPs, d≈2.9 nm) protected with tris(hydroxymethyl)phosphine oxide (THPO) ligand were deposited on the MWNTs,...
