Reactivity of Rare-Earth Metal Complexes Stabilized by an Anilido-Phosphinimine Ligand
Treatment
of anilido-phosphinimine-ligated yttrium mono(alkyl) complex 1a,
LY(CH2Si(CH3)3)(THF) (L = o-(2,6-C6H3iPr2)NC6H4P(C6H4)(C6H5)N(2,4,6-C6H2Me3)),
with 2 equiv of phenylsilane in DME afforded methoxy-bridged complex 2,
[LY(μ-OCH3)]2, via the corresponding hydrido
intermediate. When excess isoprene was added to the mixture of 1a and
phenylsilane, a η3-isopentene ...

E-Caprolactone by Bis(phosphino)carbazolide Rare-Earth-Metal Complexes
Bis(phosphino)carbazole, HL (HL = 3,6-(tBu)2-1,8-(PPh2)2-carbazole), reacted with rare-earth-metal tris(aminobenzyl) complexes (Ln(CH2C6H4N(Me)2-o)3) to afford the first PNP-carbazolide rare-earth-metal bis(alkyl) complexes, LLn(C6H4CH2N(Me)2)2 (Ln=Y (1), Sc (2), Er (3)). The yttrium complex 1 was characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis as a solvent-free monomer, in which the ...

Neutral binuclear rare-earth metal complexes with four mu(2)-bridging hydrides
The first neutral rare-earth metal dinuclear dihydrido complexes [(NPNPN)LnH2]2 (2-Ln; Ln = Y, Lu; NPNPN: N[Ph2PNC6H3(iPr)2]2) bearing μ2-bridging hydride ligands have been synthesized. In the presence of THF, 2-Y undergoes intramolecular activation of the sp2C–H bond to form dinuclear aryl–hydride complex 3-Y containing three μ2-bridging hydride ligands.

Coordination Polymerization of Renewable 3-Methylenecyclopentene with Rare-Earth-Metal Precursors
Polyamorous catalysis: Rare-earth-metal precursors supported by moderately bulky ligands mediated polymerization of renewable 3-methylenecyclopentene (MCP) monomers. The rare-earth-metal catalysts were highly active and yielded regiopure 1,4-poly(MCP) with targeted molecular weights across a wide range of polymerization temperatures.

Nitrated tyrosine adsorption on metal-doped graphene: A DFT study.
The adsorption of nitrated tyrosine on the intrinsic and metal-doped graphene was studied by density functional theory in order to explore the possibility of using graphene-based biosensor to detect the protein tyrosine nitration (PTN). The configurations of (a) phenolic ring coordination and (b) nitro group coordination on the graphene were compared. It was found that nitrated tyrosine was phys...

Mechanism of enhancement of intumescent fire retardancy by metal acetates in polypropylene
The effects of cobalt acetate (CoAc), manganese acetate (MnAc), nickel
acetate (NiAc) and zinc acetate (ZnAc) as fire retardant additive in
intumescent polypropylene (PP) formulations containing PP/ammonium
polyphosphate (APP)/pentaerythritol (PER) are reported. The limiting
oxygen index (LOI) and vertical burning (UL94) tests and cone
calorimetry were used to quantify the enhance...

Investigation of the structure variation of metal diphosphonates with the changing of N-donor auxiliary ligands and their properties
Nine metal diphosphonates, [Co(H2L)(pyz)(H2O)][(H2O)0.3] (1), [Ni(H2L)(pyz)(H2O)2] (2), [Ni(H2L)(2,2′-bipy)2][(H2O)2] (3), [Ni(H2L)(4,4′-bipy)(H2O)][(H2O)2] (4), [Ni(H2L)(dpe)(H2O)2][(H2O)2] (5), [Cu(H2L)(pyz)(H2O)2] (6), [Cu(H2L)(4,4′-bipy)][(H2O)2] (7), [Zn(H2L)(2,2′-bipy)(H2O)2] (8) and [Cd(H2L)(pyz)(H2O)2] (9), have been synthesized from a diphosphonate ligand 2,5-dimethyl-1,4-phenylenedip...

Oxygen reduction in the nanocage of metal–organic frameworks with an electron transfer mediator
A highly porous metal–organic framework (MOF) containing copper metal centres and nanocages was modified onto a glassy carbon electrode as a noble-metal-free electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction. The nanocages in the metal–organic framework were fully activated by the solvent-exchange method. Although both the as-prepared MOF and activated MOF samples showed electrochemical activity of ...

Investigation on Three New Metal Carboxydiphosphonates: Syntheses, Structures, Magnetic and Luminescent Properties
A new multifunctionalized phosphoric acid, (2-(diphosphonomethylamino)nicotinic acid, Py(COOH)(NHCH(PO3H2)2), H5L1), has been employed as ligand for the construction of new metal phosphonates. By reacting it with different metal chlorides under hydrothermal condition, three new transition metal phosphonates, namely, [Co2(HL1)(H2O)5][H2O]3 (1), Zn(H3L1) (2) and [Cd(H3L1)(H2O)2][H2O] (3) were succ...

High Capacity Hydrogen and Nitric Oxide Adsorption and Storage in a Metal-Organic Framework
Gas adsorption experiments have been carried out on a copper benzene tricarboxylate metal?organic framework material, HKUST-1. Hydrogen adsorption at 1 and 10 bar (both 77 K) gives an adsorption capacity of 11.16 mmol H2 per g of HKUST-1 (22.7 mg g-1, 2.27 wt %) at 1 bar and 18 mmol per g (36.28 mg g-1, 3.6 wt %) at 10 bar. Adsorption of D2 at 1 bar (77 K) is between 1.09 (at 1 bar) and 1.20(at &l...
