2014年7月28-30日，在英国Sheffield举行了主题为Carbon in Elecrochemistry的Faraday Discussion 172会议。University of Manchester的Robert Dryfe教授、University of Alberta的Richard McCreery教授等参加了会议研讨。会议分为“The many faces of carbon in electrochemistry”，“ Carbon electrodes for energy storage”和“Role of surface contaminants, functionalities, defects and electronic structure”等三个部分，围绕总计18篇文章的研究工作进行开展了充分研讨。罗鲲课题组的研究工作“Synthesis and sorption property of magnetic Fe₃O₄/RGO nanocomposites on methylene blue”在会议上进行了墙报交流。
