In recent years, to achieve the functionalization of carbon dots (CDs) while enhancing the performance of fibers, numerous studies have focused on doping CDs into fibers. CDs composite fibers combine the optical advantages of CDs and the fiber-forming properties of fibers, which are widely used in fields such as smart wear, anti-counterfeiting, and sensing detection. However, most CDs composite fibers are fluorescent fibers with single luminescence and poor recognition. In this study, room-temperature phosphorescent carbon dots (RTP CDs) with unique luminescent properties were doped into a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix. The composite fibers (7-CDs/PVA) were prepared using a green and simple wet spinning method, which exhibited high breaking strength and excellent thermal stability, inheriting the excellent optical properties of CDs with dual luminescence properties and a long phosphorescence lifetime of 0.787 s. It can be irradiated by UV light for 8 h and still maintain excellent photostability. In addition, the composite fibers show remarkable properties in detecting different metal ions, and their anti-counterfeiting patterns are also highly secure. This study achieves the multi-functionalization of CDs and promotes the innovative development of luminescent fibers, providing a strategy for subsequent research.
