Adhesive gels have attracted increasing attention in biological medicine and industrial fields. However, it remains a huge challenge to achieve robust adhesion in various non-polar and polar solvents. Herein, a tough nucleobase-tackified adhesive gel was successfully fabricatedand exhibited strong adhesion to variousmaterials in diversesolvents, including hexane, chloroform, dimethyl sulfoxide, ethanol, water (seawater, high salt, acid and alkali aqueous solutions).The adhesive gel possessed high toughness and excellent resist fatigue as well as impressive non-swelling behavior in water or oil.This tough gel-based adhesive would provide great promise in various applications,such as wound dressing, wearable devices, battery adhesives, soft robots and 3D printing in various environments. It is anticipated that the strategy would open a novel avenue for designing the next generation of soft materials with prospective adhesive performance.
