Abstract: The ring-shaped morphology of "crew-cut" aggregates from an ABA amphiphilic triblock copolymer in a dilute solution was investigated. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were employed to characterize the unique ring-shaped micellar aggregates. The effects of copolymer composition, solution concentration, and solvent properties on the formation of ring-shaped structures were examined. A possible formation mechanism was proposed, providing new insights into the self-assembly behavior of block copolymers in solution.
