Introduction

Vanadium and titanium-based materials are ideal candidates for structural and functional materials in aerospace, biomedical engineering, optics, catalysis, energy storage and conversion etc. Vanadium/titanium-based alloys, compounds and materials have a large family with different chemical compositions, dimensions, structures/morphologies, and chemical/physical/mechanical properties, which provides huge opportunities for the development of emerging applications. In this special thematic issue, the recent advances in vital and promising vanadium/titanium-based materials via nanostructuring/nanoengineering are presented. We welcome the submission of full-length/mini reviews and research articles on vanadium/titanium-based nanomaterials and nanosystems from reputable groups in the field to provide new insights and shed light on their promising applications.
