By covalently grafting first- and second-generation dendrons to a polyoxometalate (POM), lamellar or cylindrical nanostructures of the protonated dendron-POM-dendron hybrids have been constructed (see figure), which may open an avenue to the future fabrication of novel solid proton conductors with highly ordered structures.
