With the increasingly development of sustainable resources, the comprehensive utilization of biomass resources has been widely concerned by scholars at home and abroad. In order to promote the academic exchanges between researchers, and explore the depth of research in the field of biomass resources and materials, the first “Frontier Youth Forum on Biomass Energy and Materials” was held at Dalian University of light industry at November 2nd to 4th, 2018, hosted by the School of light industry and chemical engineering. This meeting focused on the exchange of knowledge and the collision of wisdom, which brought a feast of thought and academic dinner to the participants.

    Professor Zhongkai Wang from Anhui Agricultural University was invited to give an academic report entitled “The Design of Sustainable Elastomers from Biomass via Polymer Architecture Control”.

    Zhongkai expressed his gratitude to Professor Runcang Sun for his invitation and paid tribute to the meticulous organization of Dalian University of Technology. Through this academic exchange and the collision of ideas, I have updated and deepened my understanding of the use of biomass resources.

    The Youth Forum invited 22 famous experts and young talents from the University of California, Los Angeles, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other 18 universities and research institutes in the field of biomass energy and materials to make wonderful academic reports. There are 48 colleges and research units participating in the forum, with 179 people.
