Preparation of protein imprinted materials with high adsorption performance, selectivity, and simple operation is always challenging. Herein, we prepared mesoporous N-doped carbon fiber (MNC) with a high surface area and used it as a carrier to fabricate bovine serum albumin (BSA) surface imprinted fiber (MNC@MIP). The particular morphology of MNC can give MNC@MIP specific self-driven adsorption properties, improve the adsorption capacity, and simplify the separation process. MNC@MIP reached the adsorption equilibrium for BSA at 60 min, and the adsorption capacity was 863.22 ± 18 mg/g with an imprinting factor of 2.62. The selectivity factors of MNC@MIP for Lyz, HSA, OVA, and BHb were 6.47, 5.23, 5.42, and 5.95, respectively, which indicated that MNC@MIP can selectively adsorb BSA. Moreover, the specific recognition of MNC@MIP was analyzed by separating BSA from mixed proteins and FBS, and MNC@MIP exhibited high reusability stability. Therefore, MNC@MIP is expected to be an emerging molecular imprinted material used in biomedical and biochemical fields.
