Project Summary: Addressing the limitations of existing functional polymer material forming methods—which are singular in approach and struggle to achieve precise cross-scale molecular-to-phase structural regulation, coupled with weak, non-reconfigurable multiphase interfaces—this project demonstrates that introducing dynamic chemical molecular structures into multiphase, multicomponent polymer systems confers novel reversible phase behaviours. These include multilevel relaxation, interfacial phase enhancement, and dynamic crystallisation, characteristics unattainable through conventional processing. The study elucidates the formation mechanism of multiphase dynamic interfaces, It pioneers a research approach for multi-scale dynamic interface regulation of phase morphology and structure, establishes novel methods for functional construction and high-value recycling of polymeric materials based on multi-phase dynamic interfaces, and develops a series of high-performance reconfigurable functional polymeric materials. The research yielded 125 SCI-indexed publications, secured 21 national invention patents, garnered over 11,000 citations, and received high praise from Science and other prestigious journals. These findings have expanded the theoretical framework and methodologies for functional polymer shaping, providing robust support for advancing the dynamic interface theory within polymer science.
