International Society for Nucleosides, Nucleotides, and Nucleic Acids (IS3NA) (国际核苷、核苷酸、核酸学会)
【组织简介】
Focused on research related to nucleosides, nucleotides, oligonucleotides and nucleic acids, the aims of the IS3NA are:

To coordinate and sponsor meetings and to promote publications.

To provide means for the dissemination of knowledge dealing with current research.

To act as a mediator for communication, cooperation and understanding between scientists of all nationalities.

To provide information about and to stimulate interest in the above-mentioned areas among persons of all nationalities.

To encourage the study of the above-mentioned areas in institutions of higher education and to improve the quality of teaching of these topics.

To encourage national and international collaborations on research and application among academic, industrial, governmental and private institutional organizations.

History

At the XIII International Roundtable on Nucleosides, Nucleotides and their Biological Applications (XIII IRT), held on September 1998 in Montpellier, France, Dr. G. Gosselin (one of the two local chairmen), Prof. J.-L. Imbach and Prof. L. B. Townsend (the two fathers of the IRTs) gathered a group of fifteen prominent scientists in the area together. J.-L. Imbach and L. B. Townsend made clear their desire that the IRTs be continued, but that the control of the IRTs should become the responsibility of a new Society formed for that purpose. As a result of this meeting, a small group of senior scientists, Drs. P. Dan Cook, Gilles Gosselin, Piet Herdewijn, Akira Matsuda, and Jack Secrist, was selected from among the attendees and charged with the task of founding a new Society. This new Society would not only take over the operation of the next IRTs, but would also bring together people interested in each aspect of research related to nucleosides, nucleotides, oligonucleotides and nucleic acids. By the time of the XIV IRT held on September 2000 in San Francisco, by-laws had been developed, and a nomination committee had polled scientists around the world in setting a slate of candidates to inaugurate the activities of the new Society, called the International Society for Nucleosides, Nucleotides, and Nucleic Acids (IS3NA). Furthermore, during the XIV IRT in San Francisco, Prof. Frank Seela, from the University of Osnabrück, announced to the participants that the previous International Society of Nucleic Acids Chemistry (ISNAC) will be broken up at the end of this year, and he encouraged them to join IS3NA.

Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (美国实验生物学学会联合会)
【组织简介】
Founded in 1912 by three societies, FASEB has consistently provided educational meetings and publications to disseminate biological research results. The then six Member Societies met in 1989 to alter its focus and to reaffirm its mission. The Federation has since experienced significant growth, and is now composed of the following Member Societies and Associate Members:

The American Physiological Society
American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics
American Society for Investigative Pathology
American Society for Nutritional Sciences
The American Association of Immunologists
Biophysical Society
American Association of Anatomists
The Protein Society
American Society for Bone & Mineral Research
American Society for Clinical Investigation
The Endocrine Society
The American Society of Human Genetics
Society for Developmental Biology
Associate Members

Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities
American Peptide Society
Society for the Study of Reproduction
Teratology Society
Radiation Research Society
Society for Gynecologic Investigation
Environmental Mutagen Society

The mission of FASEB is to enhance the ability of biomedical and life scientists to improve, through their research, the health, well-being, and productivity of all people. FASEB is a coalition of independent Member Societies that serve the interests of biomedical and life scientists, particularly those related to public policy issues. FASEB facilitates coalition activities among Member Societies and disseminates information on biological research through scientific conferences and publications. FASEB also offers Member Societies headquarters facilities, and operational and logistic support.

Chemical Engineering Pan-American Collaboration(CEPAC)
【组织简介】
CEPAC (Chemical Engineering Pan-American Collaboration) is an organization that promotes US-South America collaboration in Chemical Engineering research in the areas of: catalysis, process systems engineering, interfacial phenomena and thermodynamics, biotechnology. It was conceived as a result of the activities held during the Pan-American Workshop to promote collaboration in Chemical Engineering. Geographic proximity, cultural affinity and mutual economic benefits lead to ever closer interdependence between North and South America, including strong partnerships in Chemical Engineering education, research, technology and development. The organization develops a framework with specific mechanisms that:a. Encourage the establishment; b. Support the continuation; c. Enhance the effectiveness of partnerships among Chemical Engineering academic institutions of North and South America, with possible participation from industry.

ASM International (材料信息学会)
【组织简介】
Materials Information Society (ASM) International began as a small club in Detroit with fewer than 20 members. Today they are the world’s leading society for materials information, with 40,000 members in nearly 100 countries.

ASM established its ASM Heat Treating Conference/Workshop in 1974, and a new annual event, "Metals Week," was held for the first time in 1981. In 1983, the society expanded its technical scope beyond metals alone to include other engineered materials—composites, plastics, ceramics and electronic materials. Also expanded was the geographic scope as a means to gather vital technical information wherever in the world it originates and distribute it wherever it is needed. By 1986, progress had been so substantial toward the stated goal of becoming the world’s society for engineered materials, that the membership approved a new name for the society: ASM International. Metal Progress became Advanced Materials & Processes, and Edward L. Langer succeeded Ray Putnam as Managing Director.

In 1988, the 75th anniversary of the society was celebrated with the World Materials Congress in Chicago – the largest event in ASM history. Nearly 12,000 registrants from 50 countries attended the 334 technical sessions.

By 1989, the Ninth Edition of the Metals Handbook had grown to a 17-volume set comprised of approximately 15,000 pages, 25,000 illustrations and 7,500 tables.
