Highly sensitive and selective fluorescent sensor for Zn2+/Cu2+ and new approach for sensing Cu2+ by central metal displacement
An ‘‘off-on’’ Zn2+ and ‘‘on-off’’ Cu2+ fluorescent chemosensor
C was designed and synthesized. The binding of C and Zn2+/Cu2+
is chemically reversible by the addition of EDTA disodium
solution; moreover, the fluorescence emission signal of ZnC
decreased with the addition of Cu2+, demonstrating that ZnC
could detect Cu2+ via metal displacement.

Cis–trans isomerization and spin multiplicity dependences on the static first hyperpolarizability for the two-alkali-metal doped saddle[4]pyrrole compounds
Doping two alkali-metal atoms (Li and Na) into
the saddle-shaped saddle[4]pyrrole forms four new twoalkali-
metal-doped compounds with alkalide or electride
characteristic.

The charge transfer anion-radical alkali-metal salts M+TCNQ (M = Li,Na,K):The structures and static hyperpolarizabilities
The structures and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of the charge transfer anion-radical salts without
excess electron, M+TCNQ (M = Li, Na, K) are studied for the first time.

General Synthesis and Delamination of Highly Crystalline Transition Metal Bearing Layered Double Hydroxides
In this paper, we describe a general process for the synthesis and delamination of a family of highly crystalline Al-based and transition-metal-bearing layered double hydroxides (LDHs).

Abnormal current– voltage characteristics and metal– insulator transition of amorphous Fe-doped carbon films on Si substrates
Amorphous Fe0.05–C0.95 films have been deposited on n-type Si substrates using direct current magnetron sputtering. The structure and electrical properties of the films/Si are investigated. The film/Si deposited at room temperature exhibits abnormal current–voltage (I–V) characteristics, whose current
increases slowly at first, and then increases to a very large value when the v...

Abnormal current–voltage characteristics and metal–insulator transition of amorphous carbon film/silicon heterojunction
The amorphous carbon film/n-Si (a-C/n-Si) heterojunctions have been fabricated by direct current magnetron sputtering at room temperature, and their current–voltage characteristics have been investigated. The results show that these junctions have good rectifying properties in the temperature range 80–300 K. The interesting result is that the current–voltage curve changes dramati...

Abnormal I-V characteristics and metal-insulator transition of Fe-doped amorphous carbon/silicon p-n junction
Simple p-C/n-Si junctions have been fabricated by magnetron sputtering at room temperature and their current-voltage (I-V) characteristics have been investigated. The p-n junctions show good rectifying properties in a large voltage scope and interesting I-V characteristics. The most interesting
phenomenon observed in these p-n junctions is that the temperature dependence of some junction resist...

Antioxidant activity of bovine serum albumin binding amino acid Schiff-bases metal complexes
Glutamic acid–salicylaldehyde Schiff-base metal complexes are bound into bovine serum albumin (BSA), which afforded BSA binding Schiff-base metal complexes (BSA-SalGluM, M Cu, Co, Ni, Zn). The BSA binding metal complexes were characterized by UV–vis spectra and Native PAGE. It showed that the protein structures of BSA kept after coordinating amino acid Schiff-bases metal complexes. The...

Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. 2010, 4367–4373 : Synthesis of Two-Dimensional Carbon and Carbon–Metal Nanocomposites Using a Natural Cellular Material as the Carbon Precursor
Two-dimensional carbon nanostructures, including carbon nanoflakes that are formed from the disassembly of carbon foams and carbon–metal composites, were directly synthesized using the stem pith of the rice-paper plant (SPRP) as the carbon precursor and also the synthesis template. SPRP has a foamlike porous structure. SPRP was pyrolyzed to prepare carbon foam with ultralow apparent density,...

Studies on Synthesis of Water-Soluble Polymer-supported Transition Metal Polypyridyl Complexes and their interaction with DNA
Five water-soluble polymer-supported transition metal polypyridyl complexes were synthesized from polyacrylic acid -co- N-vinyl pyrrolidone, 2-methyl-3-hydroxyl benzaldehyde, o-phenanthroline and metal acetate salts. Infrared spectra (IR), thermo-gravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), Inductance Coupling Plasma (ICP) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurement technolog...
