Liu Xiaoxu is a Level-3 Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs. He previously conducted postdoctoral research at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Harbin Institute of Technology. He has been recognized as a Shaanxi Provincial Distinguished Expert and serves as an online review expert for the National Natural Science Foundation of China in the fields of E03, E07, and E02. He has also served as an online and panel review expert for science and technology projects and awards in Shaanxi, Heilongjiang, Guangdong, Shandong, and Tianjin, as well as for talent-support programs organized by several national-level academic societies.


He currently serves on a number of professional committees, including the Engineering Dielectrics Committee of the China Electrotechnical Society, the Key Materials and Technologies for Electronic Components Committee, the Dielectric Polymer Committee and the Energy Storage Committee of the China Composites Society, and the China Polyimide Expert Committee. He is a Youth Editorial Board Member of Chinese Chemical Letters and other international journals, and serves on the editorial board of Insulating Materials. He has also acted as a Guest Editor for SCI-indexed journals including Materials Today Energy, IET Nanodielectrics, and Frontiers in Materials.


Prof. Liu was selected for the Harbin Young Innovative Talents Support Program in 2014 and the Young Innovative Talents Training Program for Regular Undergraduate Institutions in Heilongjiang Province in 2015. In 2016, he received the Special Funding of the Heilongjiang Provincial Program for Returned Overseas Scholars. In 2017, the National Natural Science Foundation of China recognized his Young Scientists Fund project as an outstandingly completed project after public defense by the Division of Engineering Materials. In 2018, he was selected for the Shaanxi Provincial High-Level Talents Program.


In recent years, Prof. Liu has led more than 20 vertical research projects, including General and Young Scientists Fund projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a Senior Foreign Scholars Program jointly funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, an international cooperation sub-project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a major Shaanxi provincial project on the integration of innovation and industrial chains. He has also signed more than 20 industry-sponsored research and patent commercialization projects with enterprises inside and outside Shaanxi Province, with a total contract value exceeding RMB 10 million.


His research achievements have been recognized with several awards, including a Second Prize of the Technology Invention Award from the China National Light Industry Council, a Second Prize of the Technology Invention Award from Shaanxi Higher Education Institutions, a Second Prize of the Natural Science Award of Heilongjiang Province, and a First Prize of the Technology Invention Award of Heilongjiang Province. He has also been listed among Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists.
