6th Symposium on Innovative Polymers for Controlled Delivery (SIPCD 2020) will be held in September 18-21, 2020 in Suzhou, China

We are pleased to announce that the 6th Symposium on Innovative Polymers for Controlled Delivery (Innovative Delivery 2020, also known as SIPCD 2020, http://www.sipcd.com/) will be held in September 18-21, 2020 at the Worldhotel Grand DushuLake, Suzhou, China.

Innovative Delivery Symposium (SIPCD), held biennially since 2010, has been established as a high-level conference in the fields of biomedical polymers and controlled delivery. The delivery system is central to nearly all emerging healthcare technologies including nanomedicines, targeted therapy, personalized medicines, gene therapy, molecular imaging, early diagnosis, protein and cell therapy, imaging-guided surgery, and immunotherapy. Innovative Delivery Symposium has an aim to provide a unique forum that not only facilitates discussion on the cutting-edge delivery technologies and new findings, but also stimulates open and meaningful debate on the critical challenges and potential solutions, thus laying a foundation for future developments and clinical translation.

We are particularly excited that Innovative Delivery 2020 is In Honor of Professor Sung Wan Kim''s 80th Birthday! Professor Kim is one of the several pioneers who have led the controlled drug delivery field from the 1970s to the current research discipline as we know it. He started the first symposium solely dedicated to the drug delivery technology in the early 1980s, which was commonly known as the Utah Symposium, with Professors James Anderson and Jan Feijen. Professor Kim also contributed in starting the Journal of Controlled Release, which published its first issue in September 1984. Professor Kim is the godfather of controlled drug delivery and has become famous for his contributions on drug delivery using biodegradable polymers as well as the design of polymer systems for gene delivery. It is our great privilege to honor the lifetime achievements of Professor Kim at the Innovative Drug Delivery 2020 in Suzhou, China.

Innovative Delivery 2020 is special because it also marks the 10-year anniversary. As for our previous symposia, Innovative Delivery 2020 will welcome about 600 participants from all over the world. We have planned 28 plenary lectures by selected worldwide leading experts, a panel discussion on cancer nanomedicines, a tutorial on ethical issues and how to write a great scientific paper, and about 350 poster presentations by prominent researchers and PhD students. The whole symposium is organized in one single session, thus offering you the possibility to be present at all lectures and discussions. We hope that Innovative Delivery 2020 would help to shape your future research directions, enlighten and inspire young students and scientists in the community, and offer a lovely venue and atmosphere for social networking with pioneers and colleagues.

Innovative Delivery 2020 has following highlights:

  • 600 Participants in one single session (without parallel sessions)
  • In honor of Professor Sung Wan Kim''s 80th Birthday
  • 28 Plenary lectures given by worldwide top scientists (many are editors)
  • A panel discussion on cancer nanomedicines
  • A tutorial on ethical issues and how to write a great scientific paper
  • 12 Best Poster Awards presented by Biomacromolecules and J. Controlled Release
  • 6 Student Travel Awards selected based on research excellence
  • Vivid social program for networking and 10-year anniversary celebration
  • Publication of a special issue in the J. Controlled Release

Suzhou is one of the most popular tourism cities in China. Being about one hour away by car or 30 mins by train from Shanghai, it can be easily reached from all over the world. The city stands out for its long history (over 2500 years), unique culture, beautiful traditional Chinese gardens, impressive canal systems, stone bridges, and silk products. Suzhou is also known as "Paradise on Earth" and "Oriental Venice".

We warmly invite you to actively participate in Innovative Delivery 2020!
