Bendingbehaviourplaysanimportantroleinaesthetics,handleandwearingofapparel,butthefactorsarecomplex.Regardingtoend-useconditions,acombinationmethodforthemeasurementofbendingbehaviourandappendingshapehasbeenproposedtoestimatebendingrigidity.Thecorrespondingapparatusforthecharacterizationofthehandlepropertiesoffabricsandyarns(CHS-FY)hasalsobeendevelopedtorealizetheevaluationoffabricbendingunderthelargedeflection.CHS-FYsystemcanmeasuremultiplemechanicalpropertiesthroughasingletesting,whichincludebending,weight,tensilepropertiesandappendingimageoffabricsandyarns.Thetheorecticalmodelingofbendingbehaviourhasbeenderivedthroughthestretchingthespecimenandtransformingthecoordinatessystem；then,theformulaofbendingrigidityisfound.Thecomparisonofbendingrigidityvaluesbetweenthetheoreticalandexperimentalresultsshowsgoodaccordance,whichindicatesthattheCHS-FYsystemiseffectiveandfeasibleinmeasuringbendingrigidity.
