Fiberstructuredevelopmentinthepoly(ethleneterephehalate)fiberdrawingprocesswasinvestigatedbywide-angleandsmall-anglex-rayscattering（WAXD/SAXS）on-linemeasurement.Forthepurpose,bothhighluminancex-raysourceandcarbondioxidelaser-heated-drawingsystemwereapplied.Bythechangeoftransmissionx-rayintensity,thepositionofneck-likedeformationwasconfirmed.Becausethefluctuationofthepositionwaslessthan1.2mm,theobtaineddiffractionimageshadatime-resolutionofseveralmilliseconds[1].Byincreasingthefiberrunningspeed,wehavesucceededtoget0.7milliseconds’time-resolution.ThecrystaldiffractionappearedintheWAXDimagesatabout20msafterneck-likedeformation,whereasthefour-pointSAXSpatternappearedimmediatelyafterneck-likedeformation.Withtheincreaseofelapsedtimeafterneck-likedeformation,themeridionalfour-pointscatteringpatternchangedintothetwo-pointshape.
