Intermsoffibersupplies,stemandbastfibersareofparticularimportancetocountries.Moreandmorenovelnaturefibersareusedintextiles.Thosenaturalfibersincludebananafiber,pineapplefiberandbamboofiberetc.Inthispaper,asakindofnovelnaturalfibermulberryfiberisstudied.Thechemicalcomponentofmulberrybastistestedandanalyzed.Meanwhile,thedegummingmethodandprocessofmulberrybastarestudied.Chemicaldegummingexperimentstoinvestigatetheinfluenceofalkaliconcentration,alkaliboilingtimeandsodiumphosphatetribasicratiotomaterialareconducted.Consequently,optimumparametersarebotained.Meanwhile,thecrystallinityofmulberryfiberistestedusingX-rayline,andzhephotosofScanningElectronMicroscope(SEM)areboserved.Testingresultsofthefiberproperties(e.g.fineness,tenacity,lenghtandelongation)showthatmulberryfibercanbespunblendwithcotton.
