TheluminescentcomplexofEuropium-pyromelliticacidwassynthesizedinthewetphase.Theelementanysis,thetitrationanalysisandFTIRspectrashowedthatthecomplexisEu4/3L&#8226；7H2O.Thermalanysisindicatedthatthecomplexhasbetterstabilityunderthetemperatureof513℃.XRDpatternindicatedthatthecomplexiscrystal,andSEMimageshowedthatthecomplexisinblockshapeandthegrainsizeis10-20μm.PLspectrashowedthatthecomplexemittedthecharacterfluorescenceofEu(III)underultravioletlight.Inacertaincondition,rareearthluminescentwoolfibrewaspreparedbyultrasonictreatment.Thephotoluminescencespectraofrareearthluminescentwoolfiberweremeasured,theresultsshowedthattheemissionpeaksnear610nmintheexcitationwavelengthof260nm,whichisduetothe5D0-7F2transitionofEu3+.Thiscoincideswiththatofcomplex.
