Anelectrospinningmethodwasusedtofabricatechitosan(CS)/poly(vinylalcohol)(PVA)blendsnanofibrousmatrix.Theinfluencesofvariousprocessingparametersondiameterandmorphologyoftheelectrospunnanofiberswereinvestigatedbyscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM)technique.Thepropertiesofsolutionwithdifferentweightratio,suchasconductivityandviscosity,weremeasured.Theresultsindicatedthattheaveragediameterofthefibersincreasedwithincreasingoftheconcentrationandthemorphologychangedgraduallyfrommorebeadsstructuretotheuniformfiber-structurewithincreasingoftheconcentrationofsolutionfrom3wt％to9.5wt%.ThediameteroftheelectrospunfibersdecreasedwiththeincreasingofCScontentsintheblendfrom10%to30%.However,attheblendcompositionswithabove30%CS,theblendnanofiberswerenotabletoelectrospunintothefibrousstructure.HighervoltageandlargerTCD(tip-to-collectordistance)favoredtheformationofsmallerdiameteroftheelectrospunfibers.TheFouriertransforminfrared(FT-IR)analysisdemonstratedthattherewerestronginteractionsbetweenCSandPVAmolecularresultedfromintermolecularhydrogenbonds.
