Thestudyofthestructure-propertyrelationshipsofliquidcrystallinepolymershasbeenapopularresearchsubjectinrecentyears.Inordertoobtainathermotropicliquidcrystallinepolymer(TLCP)whichismeltprocessible,variousapproacheshavebeentriedforreducingthemeltingtemperatureofthepolymer,withthemostoftenusedtechniquesinvolvingincorporationofkinkstructuresandasymmetricallysubstitutedmonomersorflexiblespacers,orbyamulticopolymerizationmethod.
