Ultrafastphotoinducedelectron(charge)transferfromtheconjugatedpolymers,whichareasubjectofextensiveacademicandcommercialinterestforuseastheactivematerialsinsolarcells,photodiodes,andlight-emittingdiodes,tomolecularacceptorse.g.C60andperyleneisarobustphenomenonwhichreliesonthedelocalizednatureoftheexcitedstates.1,2Avarietyoffull-fledgeddyadsandtriads2havebeensynthesizedvia1,3-dipolarcycloadditionreactionofazomethineylides.Suchmaterialssystemshavesuddenlybecomeverytopicalinrecentmonths,sincetheyrepresentamodelforsupramoleculararchitectures,whicharepotentiallyusedinmolecularnanotechnologyforartificialphotosynthesisandsingle-molecularelectronics.Inthiscontribution,wereportthephotoinducedelectrontransferprocessofanovelsolubleπ-conjugatedpoly[9,9-bis(4-diphenylaminophenyl)-2,7-fluorene](PDPAF)covalentlybridgedC60triad(2,C60-PDPAF-C60，Mn=8.8104,Mw/Mn=1.09),whichwassynthesizedbythereactionbetweensarcosine,C60andPDPAFfunctionalizedwithtwoaldehydegroups(1,OHC-PDPAF-CHO,Mn=8.5104,Mw/Mn=1.05)underthe1,3-dipolarcycloadditionconditions3.Theblue-lightemittingpolymerPDPAF,withbulkyhole-transportingtriphenylamine(TPA)groupsassidechains,hasshownmuchimprovedholeinjectionoverstandardpoly(9,9-dialkyfluorene)s.3Thephotophysicalbehaviorsofbothpolymers(1and2)havebeenprobedbyusingdifferentphotophysicaltechniquesinbenzonitrileandtoluene.Asaresult,byexcitationofthepolyfluorenemoiety,fluorescencequenchingofthesingletexcitedstateofpolyfluorenemoietywasobserved.Thenanosecondtransientspectrainthenear-IRregionrevealedthechargeseparationprocessfromthepolyfluorenemoietiestotheC60moietywiththelightexcitation.Thelifetimesofthechargeseparatedstateswerealsoevaluatedinsolution.Thephotophysicalmeasurementsweredoneinargon-saturatedsolutionstoeliminatethequenchingpathwaycausedbythemolecularoxygen.
