Thepreparationofmaterialspossessingnanocavitiesandnanoporeshasattractedintenseinterestsinrecentyearsduetotheiruniquepropertiesandapplications.Amongthevariousstrategiesadvocatedtodateforgeneratingwell-definedmacrocycleswithtunablesizes,one-step,multicomponentcyclizationsareparticularlyattractivebecauseofthesimplicityofthemethodandtheeasyavailabilityofsimplestartingmaterials.Onedauntingchallengeinpreparingmacrocyclesistoefficientlysynthesizethosewithlarge,tunablecavitieswithinternaldiameterlargerthan3nm.
