p-Chlorobenzenethiolandsodiumhydroxideweretreatedinhexamethylphosphoramidetogivethiolsalt,thesaltpolymerizedwhensomecatalystswereadded,andlinearpolyphenylenesulfide(LPPS)wassynthesized.Structureofthepolymerwasprovedbyinfraredspectrum.X-raydiffractivespectrumshowedthatLPPSwasacrystallinepolymerlikepolyphenylenesulfide(PPS).SolubilityofLPPSinmostsolventswasverysmall,soitcanbeusedforpreparingheat-resistant,highstrengthandchemical-resistantfibers. |
