NanocompositefibersofBombyxmorisilkandmultiwalledcarbonnanotubes(MWNTs)weresuccessfullypreparedbyelectrospinningprocessfromaqueoussolutions,whichblendedwithadispersionofMWNTsinwater.Scanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM),Ramanspectroscopy,wideangleX-raydiffraction(WAXD),andtensiletestingwereusedtocharacterizethemorphology,structure,andmechanicalpropertiesofthenanocompositefiberswithdifferentweightfractionsofMWNTsof0,0.25%,0.5%,1%and1.5%.SEMshowedthatthereinforcedfiberswereribbon-likeandsmallerthantheun-reinforcedfibersincrosssectionalarea.
