Graphenehasattractedtremendousattentionsfromworldwideresearchersbyvirtueofitsuniquecarriertransportproperties,ultra-highspecificsurfacearea9remarkableelectricalandthermalconductivity,aswellasoutstandingmechanicalstrengthcl‘2].However,wideexploitationoftheseexcitingpropertieschieflyreliesonmaterial‘sprocessabilityc3].Therefore,surfacemodificationiscrucialtoachievediverseutilizationsofthismonolayernanostructure.Herein,wereportthree-stepstrategyforsynthesisofgraphenederivativewithuniqueliquid-likebehaviorinabsenceofanysolventunderroomtemperature,aswellasexcellentsolubilityinbothaqueousandorganicsolvents,whichpromisegreatpotentialforfutureapplications.Typically,Grapheneoxide(GO)waspreparedfromgraphiteflakesviasimplymodifiedHummersmethod.Then,(H0)3Si(CH2)3S03H(SIT)wascovalentlygraftedontoGOthroughthedehydrationbetweenhydroxylsofthetworeactants,andtheresultantfurtherunderwentionexchangeprocesswithC9Hl9C6H4(OCH2CH2)100(CH2)2N+(CH3)3C1-(NPEQ),atypicalflexibleorganicionsalt,toyieldthegraphenenanofluids(GF).DifferentialscanningcalorimetrictraceindicatesthattheGFtransferfromsolidtoliquidat0.7090C,ingoodcoincidenceoftheopticalobservations.ThermalgravimetricanalysisrevealsthattheproportionoforganiccontentintheGFisashighas89%,whichshouldaccountforthefavorablefluidityunderambient.Additionally,thegoodaqueoussolubilitycanbeascribedtoitsionicnature,andtheoil-solubilityshouldstemfromsurfacegraftedNPEQmolecules.Thefacilesynthesisandnovelfunctionalitiesareexpectedtopropeltheprospectiveexplorationandapplicationsofgraphene-basedmultifunctionalnanocompositesanddevicesbyfacilitatingthefabricatingprocesses.
