  谭启教授获得中国科学院和美国伊利诺伊大学博士学位；曾任美国通用电气全球研发中心首席电容器科学家，具有美国大学和大企业25年的工作经历，主持过40多项材料前沿和应用研究项目，获得中国科学院自然科学奖一等奖等奖励，现为材料科学与工程系副主任。正带领有国际视野的年轻学者团队开展政府重大项目和校企合作项目研究，共享高精尖实验设备（薄膜制备中心、纳米制备中心、电镜中心等）。录取的研究生将在中国汕头和以色列海法校园开展学习和研究，并获得以色列理工学院颁发的学位。

  Prof. Tan has worked in the US for 25 years and managed multiple research projects. As the deputy head of MSE, he is leading multiple young creative scientists and professors with international vision to work on government and industrial projects. The Tan group owns world-class research equipment and environment and practice the multi-disciplinary collaboration investigating energy storage materials, energy conversion technologies, dielectric polymer films and ceramic processing for capacitors and microwave communication. Admitted graduate students will carry out the study and research in GTIIT campus at Shantou, China and Technion at Haifa, Israel, and will be conferred with Technion certificates.
