Withthedevelopmentofchemicalfiberformingtechnology,itisnecessarythatquantificationalmethodsreplacequalitativemethodsforcrossshapemeasure.Soanautomaticimageanalysissystemontextilefibersisdevelopedtoreplacemanualtime-consumingmeasurementofcharacteristicparametersthroughmicroscope.Aseriesofquantitativemeasuresaredevelopedtocharacterizegeometricattributesofprofilefiberandfiberassembly.Andtheresinembeddingtechnologyisisdevelpoedforexactlymeasuresoftextilefiber.Thesystemsoftwareisconstitutedbyauto-focusingmoduleandauto-measuringmodule.Thetwomodulescanobtainclearimagesandmeasureshapeindexeswithlittlehumaninterference.Thepracticalexamplesaregivenforimagefocusingdeterminationandimagefusion.Thecharactersofsomefibersaredescribedforfibershapeidentification.Theautomaticimageanalysissystemisabaseforspinningqualitycontrolandresearchontherelationbetweenphysicalpropertiesandcross-sectionalshape.
