VariouscontentsofnanoSiO2wereintroducedintothepoly(vinylidenefluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene)(PVDF-HFP)matrixtopreparepolymermembranes.Morphologiesandionconductivitiesoftheas-preparedmembraneswereinvestigatedbyscanningelectronicmicroscopy(SEM)andACimpedancetechnique.Furthermore,thecharge-dischargeperformancesofthemembranesbeingassembledtobatterieswereevaluated.Comparedwiththeothers,themembranewiththeadditionof10wt.%SiO2exhibitshigherconductivity,namely,approximately110-3Scm-1atroomtemperature.ThebatteriesassembledwiththemembranesfilledwithnanoSiO2showbettercycleabilitythanthesamplewithoutnanoSiO2,whichencountersashortcircuitafter5thcycle.Asaresult,theadditionofnanoSiO2isconfirmedasafeasiblemethodtoimprovebothmechanicalstrengthandelectrochemicalperformanceofthepolymermembranesforlithiumionbatteries.
