Thenewmaterialofisotaticpolypropylene/graphene(iPP/G)compositeshaverecentlybeensynthesizedviainsituZiegler-NattapolymerizationbyHuang1.Thecompositesshowsuperiorthermalpropertyandalowelectricalpercolationwitheffectivedispersionofgrapheneplates.Whenthecontentofthegrapheneisnotverylow,aninterpenetratingnetworkcanformduringtheannealingprocessathightemperatures(e.g.200oC)inthematerial,whichwillendowthematerialwithexcellentmechanical,electricalandgasbarrierproperties.Inthisstudy,morphologyevolutionofthenetworkstructureanditsinfluenceonthecrystallizationbehaviorofiPPwereinvestigatedbythemeansofopticalmicroscopy(OM)anddifferentialscanningcalorimetric(DSC).TheOMexperimentalresultsshowedthatthemeltcrystallizationrate,thecrystallizationmorphology,andthesizeofiPPcrystalsweresignificantlyinfluencedbythepresenceofgrapheneduetotheheterogeneousnucleationeffect.Itwasobservedthatthepreferenceofnucleationmainlyattheinterface,almostalongwiththenetworklocation,andthesizeofthecrystalwassmallerinsizecomparedtotheconditioninpureiPP;DSCresultsindicatedthatthehalftimeofcrystallization(t1/2)decreasedastheincreaseofthefillerloading.
