Novelsuperabsorbenthydrogelswerepreparedfromcarboxymethylcellulosesodium(CMC)andcelluloseintheNaOH/ureaaqueoussystembyusingepichlorohydrin(ECH)ascrosslinkers.ThestructureofthehydrogelswerecharacterizedbyFouriertransforminfrared(FTIR),thermogravimetricanalysis(TGA)andscanningelectronmicroscope(SEM).TheresultsshowedthatCOO-groupsexistedinthehydrogel,andcross-linkingbetweenCMCandcellulosechainsbyECHoccurred.Interestingly,themaximumS%valuereachedanexcitinglevelof100000whilethehydrogelsstillkeepingasteadyappearance,whereastheswellingratiodecreasesrapidlyinNaClorCaCl2aqueoussolution,whichwassmartswellingbehavior. |
